Internalized Negative Messages

Saturday, February 2, 2019 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Toward the end of the January poly support group, several folks spoke of, and were in touch with the pain of negative messages that they’d received as children by church leaders, by family, by community. The reverberation of these early life messages may persist as internal expectations, barriers, beliefs and self-criticisms we currently tell ourselves. Perhaps it will be of value to take time to think about, explore, and share experiences of significant messages that you’ve internalized about self, sexuality, relationships. Aware that speaking of difficult experiences can be quite vulnerable, we invite you, as always, to share as much or as little as you feel is accurate for you. Not sharing, but listening and being there can be of great value to the group too.

Look forward to seeing you in February.

The session is scheduled from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at Tribe Healing Arts1819-21 W. Belmont, Chicago (2 blocks west of the Lincoln & Ashland intersection). Street parking is available in the area.

Fee: Recognizing our time and the cost of use of the space, a fee of $10 per person is requested. We know that this may be difficult for some. We encourage each of you to contribute what feels fair. Please do not let money be an obstacle to your participation. Feel free to speak with us if you have questions or concerns.

Please RSVP at the Chicago Polyamory Meetup site. We look forward to sharing ourselves, our issues, concerns, joys, successes etc. together in a meaningful way. Hope that you will join us.
