June Topic

Saturday, June 1, 2019 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Often over the years of practicing as a psychotherapist I’ve heard a lament about “sharing” one’s partner with another person(s). The source of much consternation, pain, worry and sometimes even joy! this topic surfaces frequently. When my children were little, I did not encourage them to share their stuff. My belief was that if they had something long enough, like a toy, a stuffed animal etc., they’d be more apt to share it when they’d had it for as long as they’d wanted it. Sometimes they did, other times not. Does this idea map on to human relationships? Perhaps a bit simplistic, but perhaps not. Perhaps a feeling of security is what is needed in order to be open to being open.

Fee: Recognizing our time and the cost of use of the space, a fee of $10 per person is requested. We know that this may be difficult for some. We encourage each of you to contribute what feels fair. Please do not let money be an obstacle to your participation. Feel free to speak with us if you have questions or concerns.

Please RSVP at the Chicago Polyamory Meetup site. We look forward to sharing ourselves, our issues, concerns, joys, successes etc. together in a meaningful way. Hope that you will join us.
