As in other years, in our November session, we like to begin thinking, reflecting, and talking about some of the challenges we polyam folk may be up against during the holiday season. Some of those challenges that we’ve experienced in our own lives and/or have discussed in this group are: time, money, energy, belonging, feeling left out, how in or out one feels with families, when and with whom one celebrates, loneliness, guilt around choosing someone or ones over others and so on. In writing that short list, I’m aware that these are everyday polyam challenges, but they do seem to be magnified during the holidays. Aware that the celebration of the upcoming holidays is not for all, the issues mentioned are ones we all face, or have faced from time to time.
There is so much wisdom and experience in this group; I hope you’ll join us.
