We are pleased to introduce you to Arielle Zimmerman, MSW, who recently joined LifeWorks Psychotherapy as a therapist.

How did you first learn about LifeWorks?
I’d been hearing positive things about LifeWorks from my LGBTQ+ peers, and saw on their website that the practice was hiring.

What drew you to LifeWorks?
I was first drawn to LifeWorks because of its focus on depth psychotherapy. I share the practice’s belief that therapy is not about “fixing” our client’s problems, but instead assisting our clients in building self compassion and acceptance of the unknown.

What are you hoping to gain at LifeWorks and how do you imagine it will impact your future?
I am excited to grow my skills in IFS and other depth oriented psychotherapies. Additionally, I am looking forward to attending trainings on clinical work with LGBTQ+, polyam, kink, and sex work communities.

In the short amount of time, since you joined the LifeWorks community, what has surprised you most
and why?

I have felt welcomed by the authenticity and vulnerability shown by fellow staff members. Everyone seems to value opportunities to grow, not just as therapists but as complex humans with our own struggles and triumphs.

Anything else professionally that you are particularly looking forward to this year?
This summer I am looking forward to receiving my provisional license (LSW)!
