Bernadette Parfenoff, LPC

Pronouns: she, her, hers

I work with adults from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. I have experience addressing a variety of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, substance use, LGTBQ+ identity issues, and PTSD/trauma. Additionally, as a sex-positive and kink-informed therapist, I support individuals with alternative sexualities, erotic practices, and kink/BDSM interests. I believe in providing an accepting, compassionate therapeutic environment for all clients.

My approach as a therapist is collaborative. I’m interested in working alongside you to meet your goals, make changes, and experience a more fulfilling life. I borrow from a variety of perspectives, including CBT, REBT, and mindfulness-based approaches, in order to tailor therapy to your personality and needs. As a strengths-based therapist, I draw from your existing Talents, assets and abilities to help you build greater self-esteem and confidence.  I believe we all have positive qualities, and I’m excited to help you find and highlight yours.

Therapy can seem intimidating, but you are not undergoing this journey alone. I see us as a team, working together to discover and accept all parts of you. I look forward to exploring your feelings, fears, and desires with you.
